Who Am I?

I am a Head of Year and English teacher in a mainstream school in Derbyshire. I have extensive experience of the role of Head of Year as well as the issues which pastoral staff face on a day to day basis. I also have extensive experience of mentoring and coaching both new and experienced staff including working with ITTs and NQTs. I also have experience in delivering leadership training, as well as interview preparation and coaching.

In addition, I have led on large whole school initiatives to improve attainment, raise aspirations and remove barriers to learning. I have also consistently delivered professional development to whole staff on both small and large scales, internally and externally. I have led on various teams of up to 14 tutors as well as led on transition from Year 6 - 7, the transition into KS4 as well as the Options process. I have also completed both my NPQML and NPQSL as well as worked as part of Women Into Leadership as well as delivered professional development for Middle Leaders.

‘The Teaching Coach’ - both on Teachable and elsewhere - was created as a space for resource sharing, discussion and development and a platform for me to help improve staff.

My aim is simple: to help drive improvement in schools through working with staff to develop quality pastoral care and quality teaching and learning resources.
